Cysic Bridge Attack Sees $744K Transferred to Tornado Cash Mixer

The wallet behind the Cysic bridge attack transferred roughly $744,000 in digital assets to Tornado Cash on Friday, one day after the foundation published a white-hat proposal.

Blockchain intelligence firm PeckShield reported that the address moved 300 Ether and 30.4 BNB into the mixer.

On Saturday the attacker had exploited a flaw in Cysic's bridge infrastructure to create 10 million CYS tokens on BNB Smart Chain without authorisation. Cysic halted bridge operations immediately and blacklisted the receiving wallet, which left approximately 2.8 million of the minted tokens frozen. The team confirmed that its main network and tokens already held by users remained secure.

The foundation extended a 10% bounty offer the following Thursday, asking the exploiter to return 275.872 ETH — valued near $665,000 and representing nine-tenths of the Ether traced so far — in exchange for keeping the remainder.

Tornado Cash combines incoming deposits from many sources, obscuring the destination trail. Data from Akham showed the attacker's Ethereum address holding only $45 in ETH at the time of reporting.

The Cysic Foundation had not replied to a request for comment on recovery progress by press time.
